| Radio based Motor-Gearbox Assembly |
In a pre-assembly station for the motor and the
gearbox the two components have to be assembled
according to the printout delivered by the host system.
Both components are delivered manually by
portable cranes from two adjacent warehouses.
Sometimes it happens, due to the variety of the
components, that the wrong part was taken from
the warehouse and assembled unnoticed until the
final check or possibly after delivery of the car. |

| The new EC32 application now performs the following
functions: |
 |
- |
receive data with ID, a consecutive number for synchronization
purposes, a motor code and a gearbox code. The data is stored in a
FIFO file |
| - |
two wireless manual operated scanner systems with displays
of 4 lines 16 characters each are connected to the control PC |
| - |
on manual request via digital I/O from the assembly
station the oldest record is retrieved from the FIFO and the motor
code is sent to the motor scanner, while the gear-box code is sent
to the gear-box scanner |
| - |
the persons responsible
for fetching the components from the warehouse have the identify the
components in the warehouse |
| - |
this information is sent
back to the control PC and compared with the preview data from the
host system |
| - |
if the data does not match
an alarm is set and an error message is sent to the scanner, which
has caused the mis-compare |
| - |
in case of a good compare,
the ID with the date of the processing is sent back to the host system
|
| - |
local statistics which
give a detailed overview regarding the amount and types of parts are
updated |
